Robert Irvine, the owner of K-Max Ltd originally spent 20 years working alongside Peter Lovelock, who employed him to work on the site as a mechanic as part of his family-run garage services business when the garage was previously known as Plantagenet Motors. The garage itself has been at 11a Plantagenet Road in New Barnet for some thirty five years now and after twenty years working together, Peter retired and Robert took over the garage services himself. Robert, having worked under the name K-Max for twenty years on this very site, naturally decided to name the whole garage K-Max Ltd. when he took over.
